Ok, so I was drving along the interstate doing 65 @ around 4k RPM. All of a sudden BOOM! Smoke and Oil are everywhere. I pull i over and there is a huge hole in the bottom of the block.

Check It Out (http://www.teamchozen.net/Graphics/blownmotor.JPG)

I got the motor from JapanStarMotor.com. I would NOT recomend them to anyone. for the motor to be in for less then a day and this happen, something was wrong internally. We had everything double checked, and it was running perfect. Now I gotta try and work things out with the company. The motor is under warranty for 90 days, so we'll see.

** fixed the link

Japanstarmotor.com is the same place as another internet jdm motors site (naganojapanese.com). The layout is exactly the same on both sites, just different names. There's a warning on honda-tech.com about the shitty motors they sell. I guess this only proves that fast. Check out this thread made by the guys at totaljdm.com: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=801338

That is the single smartest thing I have ever heard anyone say on these boards.

zc's arnt that great of a motor, near impossable to find parts for because it was never sold in america, and something is allways breaking on them... as evident if you watch these forums.

I'm happy as hell with my DOHC ZC. No problems at all with it since I put it in. It pulls strong everday. I think it all matters on who you get the engine from. I got mine from a place that hot runs them.

I wish every shop hot ran a motor to test it off the car before they sell it..

I enjoyed my ZC while I had it, and Probably would still have it if not for my Transmission taking a Dump. I swaped to the B-series only for the Tougher Transmissions and better aftermaket support. the DOHC is a Great Engine and I would not hesitate to recomend one... just make sure you put new bearing in it before you drop it in... cheap insurance.

P.S. also it's good practice to Buy Motors in the country that you live. If you noticed alot of the so called "shady" engine supliers are in canada and most of the people who get screwed are in the US, and they have little to no recourse.

I personly bought a motor from Osaka motors and it been great. I have no complaints but If I did I can complain to the BBB or "Bureau de la protection du consomateur" (Consumer protection Board of Quebec).

Osaka has bad reputation! They sold my friend a gsr motor with some sensors broke and missing! Anyways sucks about your ZC motor. I would get a sohc vtec over the ZC anyday. All in all...i'd get me the b18c5 ;)

I understand osaka has a bad reptutation but it only seems to be americans that get screwed. that's why I say buy motors from your own country.
