ok here is a wierd one, last nite my battery Light was blinking off and on while i was driving but not when i was at idle. The battery voltage was normal at about 15V. I haven't had any issues with this and the car is charging great. A few nites ago my door adjar light stayed on but i knew my doors were closed and the lights were off. i shut the car off anmd restarted it and it was gone. Is my Computer (ECM) taking a crap on me? Has anyone else had this happen. today the light blick a few times but then was ok.

The voltage regulator (in the Alternator) turns on the low voltage warning light for undervoltage or overvoltage. When the ignition switch is placed in the run position, voltage is supplied to alternator terminal L by the PCM, turning on the regulator.

ok, Problem solved. Of all the stupid problems to have, somehow, the wiring harness on the alternator came off and was just dangling in the socket. plugged it back in. done problem solved. How this came loose is beyond me.

I'm glad to see some info on this issue. My 94 PAUltra has never had a charging problem other than having to replace the alternator a few months back. The one that was replaced was original equipment with nearly 200K on it! I was not surprised when the little red light next to the amp meter kept blinking until I replaced the alternator. It still blinks on from time to time for no apparent reason. According to the meter I'm charging at around 14 volts. I was wondering if there is some way to adjust the range on when the light comes on.

There is no adjustments. If its blinking and voltage stays up, then its the wiring harness to the regulator either being loose and faulty.. Check there first.
