ignition lock

i have a 1995 525i, the ignition lock is broken on it. does anyone know where i can find an explanation on how to take the lock out of the ignition.

This is fairly common and I don't type well enough to try an explaination here, find a repair manual in your library or local bookstore. You'll be taking most of the upper column appart and the only tricky part will be getting the upper bearing sleeve circlip fully seated before you reinstall the steering wheel.
