Koni Yellow Height Adjustment...?

With the Koni Yellows, they are adjustable. Exactly how adjustable are they? Enough to raise the whip a lil bit to fight the winter? I have a 2.5/2.25 drop. Thanks:bloated:

Ok I don't quite understand what your asking but Koni's aren't height adjustable. They can be used to dampen your adjustable coilovers. But the Koni's themselves don't raise or lower your car. You can adjust the dampening effect tho and I particularly don't see how that'll help your winter driving.

They have dif perches, so you might beable to get .5 up!

If you get bad winters where you live, not to bash, but with a 2.5 drop, thats just dumb! Look into springs like neuspeed sports, or get adjustable coilovers so you can raise or lower for the winter!

I have my Koni's at the highest position, but they're still lower than stock shocks..
I think they are originally shorter than stock shocks...only about 1 to 2 centimetres though :)

Calm down there Tool-Ow-Integra. Rice-Rocketeer is trying to clarify what exactly the situation is. I would assume the question is about a particular coil over kit. But "Koni Yellows" are a type of shock that can be adjusted for damping, but not nesicarily height. Its even more unclear what hardware is in play, or would be in play. since the original post also mentions a "2.5/2.25" drop. Are we talking about using Koni Yellow shocks in conjustion with lowering springs, or a coil over kit?

This has been already addressed but I'll add something just for you love:

Because the koni's have different hieght perches doesn't make it an hieght adjustable shock. It just means you can sit the spring lower or higher. The perches are meant to give you more choices for different springs and better weight distribution tuning without getting single rate coilover sleeves or full blown coilover strut packages. A hieght adjustable shock, is a shock where you can adjust the shaft to better dampen springs of different heights. This is a better solution than just having different perches at different heights. Besides, the strut shaft is not you use to raise or lower ride hieght. The spring is because that's whats actually supporting the weight of the car.

But the Koni's aren't meant to a proffessional racing shock that are infinitly variable for compression rebound and height. They are meant to give you good dampening for a lower price.

i know what you're saying Ricerocket.....they are not height adjustable in the coilover sense, but there is a range of height adjustablility....be it only +/- .5" or not.....that's all the guy wanted to know, and your first post did not even address his question.....

I'm sorry then. The spring perch adjustability on the Koni's (atleast the ones I've seen) are not adjustable to the point of functionality for winter driving. Hieght adjustable coilovers would be more what you need.

I'll have to look into the Koni offers for Hondas a little more closely. The Koni Yellows ARE available in forms intended for full out race cars in other platforms. IE, able to handle 1000+ lb spring rates, wide range of continous adjustment in both jounce and rebound, coil over configurations, ect.

Oh I'm sure they do offer full out race shocks for a much larger price tag. All this racing technology has to be learned from somewhere :)

I just meant the $600 a set ones in particular aren't meant for that.
