Yeh i was just wondering if anyone had any problems with their cold air intake, like sucking up water, filter falling off, tubes diconnecting? I just put in my cai and am a liitle scared driving while it rains. What are some precautions with a cai? Sorry for the lame questions!!

sell it, buy a ram intake then order the ram air kit from weapon-r, feed tubing down to front left bumper take out plastic grill, get out the old dremel tool if need be, make it so more air can go through, pop back in ;)

p.s i will post some pics of what i am talking about sometime soon i want to make some sort of cap for the tubing that i can screw on when raining just to be on the safe side.

p.s.s cai are over rated as are most intakes the reason why most people don't see such a great improvment in there car is because it is usualy the first mod done if you were to take a heavly mod'd car and put a stock air box/intake on it and compare the diff it would most likely show a more drastic change in performance. most mods are accumlative meaning they all improve each other. and turbo motors allways respond more to mods concerning air breathability then N/A vehicles. not allways but majority.

CAI don't do crap to us 1.8T owners (if you are one)

it won't add any hp at all on a turbo car, only sounds, those "psssh" sounds

only get a ram air if you do what rushred said

otherwise, don't do it at all, it'll just suck in hot engine air

and don't worry, unless you are driving through a deep paddle, your CAI won't take in water, and filter won't just "fall off" if you installed it properly O_o
tube disconnecting? maybe, you just conenct them back, easy
just make sure they are tight when you install them, then they shouldn't disconnect
