Well since there is no "new motor" thread to put it in this is the next best thing because street racing is what this motor is built for. It is a 396 CI block bored .030 over to make it a 402, here is a list of parts that are in it.
1965 corvette heads with bigger valves installed
forged crank
9.6:1 compression pistons
Comp cam's "Magnum Series" 280H grind cam
Comp cams "Magnum Series" hydraulic lifters
Edelbrock RPM-air gap intake manifold
Edelbrock low profile valve covers
Pete Jackson gear drive
RPC aluminum timing chain cover
Here is a picture of the big block beast itself

Thanks, the only thing different about older motors is that they have a longer break in period then newer motors due 2500-3000 miles, But after that im driving up to long beach to meet redneck.

Before the mods it was 427 horsepower and 400 ft/lbs of torque, but with the mods like cam intake all that good stuff the calculation said 475-480 horsepower and 430 ft/lbs of torque. The greatest thing about large displacment engines is that you dont have to spend that much money to get large power gains. Oh and i do have a digital camcorder, so you guys will be able to watch me fly past redneck, just a little pre-race shi* talking.

That's a very good lookin big block! And you are right! They are very easy to get big HP from!
Those things just do not give up! From reading Redkneck's post, it really sounds like he has a fast car, and your Nova probably weighs twice as much as his Z.
I'd predict you'd have your hands full in a short run, but you'll definetly run him down, becuase like i said, those big blocks just don't quit.
