Srt-10 In A Camaro???

Please dont flame me or anything but I just wanr=ted to know if it could happen. I have heard that it should but I dont know for sure. All repies will be apreciated!

Im sure you could stuff it in there but for all the hassle it would give you and all the time and money required to do it, its probably not worth it.

It should be illegal to put Chevy engines into Fords or Dodges! To put a Ford, Dodge, or any other motor into a chevy is even worse!!

considering that the SRT-10 is a car, why would you want to put a car in a car?

the Engine from the SRT-10 would not bo worth it like said above, youd have to get new mounts, swich to a dodge tranny, and so on. when for that much you could build a 454 with alot more HP, that is a much better fit.

if you have enough money to buy a Viper engine then why are you putting it in a Camaro? Just buy a really early Viper... they were always fast as hell.

now you cant honestly use that arguement. getting a rear-end to work in a car is exponentially easier than getting an engine to work. especially a newer engine with all the computer controlling that is involved. i will give you the older, carbed engines, solely on doubt cause ive never had any experience with that so i wont disagree...

putting a Dodge V10 in a camaro is entirely possible, the engine bay is large enough, and the Tranny that goes behind it is a good ol T56, which we all know has installation kits available. you might have to get a new driveshaft, but that depends on where you place the engine in the fram rails. with that much power though you would definatly have to put in a roll cage and subframe connectors, not for safty, but to tie the front and back halves of the car together. you would also need the computer and engine management equipment, sensors, wiring harness yadda yadda. and the money to finance the project. but when ya pulled it off, it would be pretty bad ass, just my two cents on it. I kinda liken it to putting an LT5 in a camaro. you dont do it for hp per dollar, you do it for the cool factor.

i got a friend who has an old CJ Jeep, and he dropped in an LT1 with a T56.. he bought the jeep trashed and now its pry the most badass jeep i've ever seen, and the windshield tells it all.. "Built Jeep Tough, with CHEVY stuff" :)

i didnt say "dodge engine in a chevy car" because i think its a sin to put a non-chevy product into a chevy car. i said that because it would be difficult to do the swap. im not hardcore chevy, everything else is garbage. im just saying that the dodge engine is a completely different system, and it would not be worth the effort to get that system to work with the chevy system. im looking at it purely from an engineering stand point...

Its no different from people putting LS1s and other engines into their 50 year old vehicles that have nothing in common with a new fuel injected engine.

the difficulty of the swap would have much to do w/ the year of the camaro... what year were u thinking about? newer models? i'd say fuck it. but if u get a 1st gen, i think it could be done w/ not too much trouble

that motor would be freakin expensive.. how much is the truck anyways?

the truck is like 40 or 50 grand i thought.

also, now knowing that you are putting it into a first gen, i would say that it might be worth looking into. it should be a lot easier to put it into a first gen than a third or fourth...
