west coast customs = shi**y rice

i was looking at some pics of cars that west coast customs did for the mtv show "pimp my ride" and was taken back by the quality......the fact that there was none that is, the body kits werent alined and they just put the most expensive crap in the car, and they always go with some big chrome wheel from giovanna or lexani, i dont know if they do this because they get all that stuff for free or if they really just dont care to much, but from what i have seen i would never take my car to them for anything. (not that i have shops do anything to my car anyways)

yeah i think the shop gets free stuff for advertising that stuff. thats why they always use audiobahn and shit like that. i agree i would never take my car to them, unless they pick my car for the show, cause the crap they bring in there couldnt be in worse shape to begin with.

if u watched "rides" you would probably have a completely different feeling about them... they are one of the most reconized body shops around that do many jobs for famouse people... a guy even sent his enzo there to get custom rims... you dont just send your enzo anywhere

im guessing that on the show they have low quality because they have a low budget and the people arent paying for the car, so it is low priority compared to paying customers who are expecting a quality job

If that's the case, I'd rather have Overhaulin do my car, because they actually seem to care about fixing up the car's they get.

yeah i dont know why that guy took his car there to get rims for his enzo, if you have that much cash, you could just take it to givanna yourself and have them make up rims,(thats all west coast customs did, took it to there shop, played with it and took it to a real rim maker, i dont remember who), i think all that west coast customers are rappers and sports stars that dont know more about their car than they just want to be seen and heard and look impresive, while spending as much as possable, and yeah overhauling kicks ass,

IMO, the coolest Overhauling car was the surfer El Camino. Very nice.

Tuner Transformation is so generic. They do simple little things to the cars, just like Pimp My Ride. Overhaulin actually tears down the car and completly redoes it. Brand new engine, new paint. EVERYTHING. Pimp my ride puts on crapy body kits, makes seat covers, puts in crappy audio systems. And who really wants an expresso maker in their armrest? I mean really...WHO? Then tuner transformation simply lowers the car, ads vinyl and maybe an engine upgrade. OVERHAULIN OWNS!

Yeah, overhauling owns, They actually have people who know what they are doing. Plus they always do cool cars, like chevelles and corvettes, not civics and Maxima station wagons. Plus, pimp my ride is only half an hour long. By the time they finish talking about the person, you dont even get to see what they do to the car.

Ever notice how Pimp My Ride plays music after they do the work? My theory is that they didn't fix the crappy engine(the most important part) when they "pimped" it. They can screw anything up. They were even able to screw up a '67 Mustang, and thats hard to do. Chip Foose is the best automotive designer ever, not to mention his airbrush skills. As someone already said, they actually pick sweet cars to overhaul. Pimp My Ride likes to pick Civics, Land Rovers, and Maxima wagons?! Those are some really strange cars to put any money into. I wouldn't pay over $500 for any of them... just a last resort for basic transportation. Oh, and Foose does his cars in under a week! Paint and body, motor and tranny, rearend, suspension, frame work, floor, trunk work, exhaust, interior, and all those little custom touches. He is my idol.
