Where is Toyota’s sports car?

Nissan has the 350Z, Mazda has the RX-8, and Honda has the NSX and the S2000.
Ford will soon have 3 - the new Mustang, the GT, and the Shelby Cobra.
Subaru with the WRX & WRX STI and Mitsubishi has the Lancer Evolution VIII.
But those last 2 should not have even been made, I mean really, why would you want a 4-door sports car? C’mon that’s silly, although they are faster than some of the others.

In late 93’ the Toyota Supra Twin-Turbo came out with a tested 0-60 time of under 5 seconds. There was also the MR2 turbo (mid-engine rear wheel drive 2-seater) that one was also very quick, but they both died due to increased pricing and the late 90’s “great depression”. Some people might say hey! , what about the new MR-S? Are you kidding, that car is weak, Maybe that was the plan from the start, MR-S (mid-engine rear wheel drive s**t). That would be fitting.

It’s not like they can’t afford it, they are the number one auto manufacturer in the world.
Sure, Toyota’s new “save fuel while saving the environment campaign” with their hybrid vehicles is nice, but some of us would rather chop a tree down and throw it in the fireplace than plant one.

SOMEBODY ANSWER ME!! WHERE THE HELL IS THE MARK V? TOYOTA HAS
BECOME THE WIMP LATELY, THEY DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING GOOD!!!!!!!

I don't think i would call an S2000 a sports car, even though they are pretty sweet. I can agree that the NSX is lol.

Toyota simply does not have one right now, kinda seems like they would be losing alot of sale huh?

Well what they lose here im sure they gain being in nascar truck series, not to mention other US motorsports.

Or maybe they make up for it when we are forced to buy certain parts for our old yota monsters from the dealership for jacked up prices lol.

I kinda thought the same thing till i saw the stats of the Solara or what ever the hell they are.

Besides I kinda support what Toyota is doing. I view it this way... they came out... whipped it out... stunned the compition and left.

In my opinion the only car from japan that rivals the MkIV as the Beast Master of the Road was the 99 Skyline Gtr. Sure the STI and the EVO can be some fast cars... but nothing really seems to have the 1000hp+ ballz out power that those two can offer. Even more so for the starting price.

Besides I kinda like the idea of the Scions and the Pod if it ever comes out.

And more so... when you look at it. They could fuck do it and fuck it up like they did the GTO. And come-on Toyota's guys are really smoking something funny anyway right now... you seen the new MR2... some one needs to be hunted down for that "thing".

Guys with wives want a 4 door sports car. Its a compromise. I have a buddy that wanted a nice 2 door 2 seater, but with a wife and 2 kids that jsut wasn't possible. She wanted to get a SUV so they had 4WD for the winter. Not to mention the room they needed for shopping. So they copromised and ended up getting a WRX wagon. She gets the AWD and cargo room. He gets his plaything. Unfortunately some of us have to live in the real world. Thats why sport sedans exist.

As far as where is Toytoa's sports car, well look no further than the Lexus line. The IS is by no means a slouch with a NA 2JZ under the hood, and lets not forget the SC 430. That little V8 makes that thing go. Both engines are prime for upgrade. If I remember correctly there was an IS being campained in the Speed World Challange, and it did rather well.
