Hello Everyone.
My name is Elisha and I live in the Rochester NY area. My male best friend got me into cars a few years ago and I've become more interested essentially through trials and tribulations with my own vehicles.
I've been through way too many cars for only driving a few years.
I've had an '87 Duster, '88 Tempo, '89 Grand Am and finally a '92 Cutlass Ciera. I had more problems with the Grand Am than humanly possible and was very relieved to purchase the Cutlass from my Dad's girlfriend. Although she has 189,000 miles on her she still runs beautifully with only fairly mild repairs thus far (knock on wood.)

My friend is more interested in foreign cars while I'm more interested in domestics - although I wouldn't pass up a Nissan 300ZX anytime soon. :)

Um. I'm a 22 year old woman, college student studying History and Law and I enjoy music, specifically death/speed/black/opera metal.

I love reading about interesting problems with cars that have interesting solutions - I had an issue with my Grand Am that a few mechanics couldn't solve.. someone behind me in line at the autoparts store solved it for me. :) That's why I've found it's nice to meet people that have the same vehicle as you because you find yourself have similar problems.. it's nice to hear somewhat unorthodox repairs to bizarre car failures.

It's nice to meet you all and I look forward getting to know some people better.

Welcome to AF!

You're on your fourth car already? Good for you! I'm on my third. Had a '88 Sunbird and a '86 Toyota Cressida. The Bird had the worst problem and I ended up giving it up as a junker. The Cress is currently under a engine problem (it's running on five cylinders). If it was in good working condition I would definitely get that back, but I'm enjoying my current car so far.

Never heard of Opera Metal music. What's that like?

Hope you enjoy it here!

What is it with Pontiacs?! I'm convinced, they're the most problematic cars! I've never heard of a Toyota Cressida actually, I'm going to google it and look at pictures.

Opera Metal is just that, Opera singing over a metal song. Very high-pitched singing, holding out notes, sometimes singing in foreign languages over the typical speed and musical arrangement of a metal song. Most bands in Norway or Sweden perform music like that, we don't have much opera metal in the US. A good semi-opera metal band to listen to is Apostasty if you have any interest in metal music at all. :)

Thank you for the welcome, I appreciate it!

I'd also like to comment on how much I appreciate your avatar/user icon because Aqua Teen Hunger Force is the greatest (second to only Cowboy Bebop, in my eyes. :D)

Glad you like my avatar. They're my favorite characters in teh show.

I thought I had a pic of my car on the computer, but it seems like I don't. Cardomain.com is a good place to see some. The Cressidas are very nice and a real sleeper when you drop the Supra engine in there (the four door Supra :D)
