okay i know i am new to this forum but lets see what i get with this? lol
name is jason and i want to bore and stroke a buick 455 to make it in to a 528 stroker !!!! the block is a 1970 buick 455 but as i was looking in to the 455 gmc motor i notice two things!
1)the first it that the buick has the biggest displacement! wow!(4.263") 2) thes second is that the olds 455 has the biggest stroke on the crankit being 4.500".
the question is can you use the crank out of the olds motor and put it in the buick motor if so what would it take, or will the crank and block need a trip to the mechine shop to get some work done on it?
i am planing to bore the block .060 over or even .090 to get it were it needs to be to make the 528 stroker i think it is ..060 just cant remember and it is late. by the way this car is being set up to make some of the ford guys around here go nuts putting this motor in a 1960 ford edsel four door car so i have the weight i need and the frame is stronge enough to handel all that i want to do.
also in to regards to the transmission i will be using a switch pitch 400 turbo tranyy with a 2000-3500 rpm stall on the back of this monster!!!
