With no mention of the mileage, Have you checked your IAC or performed a throttle body cleaning?

Guess what, this problem can be fixed in about 15 mintes.
Get a new EGR valve gasket.
Remove the EGR valve and remove the carbon chunks blocking the valve open.
After spray the inside of the valve down with carb or throttle body cleaner and reinstall.
remove the positive and negative battery termainls for 15 minutes to clear the codes and it will run good as new.

Don't use the gasket with the screen, you WANT to ge the cabon out of your intake so just use a standard gasket.
