No sound coming from radio

I have 95 eclipse and I had cassete radio I ordered cd payer from 98 eclipse and installed it, the cd player powers on and there are lights and you can swith am/fm tape, you can put in cd and out but there is no sound, the one that was in my car originaly cassete radio works fine it has a sound. What could be the problem with cd player, there is no fuses behind the cd player?

So you had a cassette/radio stock and then you got a stock cd player from a 98 eclipse?

I would think that you wired it incorrectly.

You're gonna have to pull that baby back out and check the wiring. Do you know if it plays cd's but is just not producing audio? That is weird that you aren't getting any sound. Perhaps (if you used em) the wire harnesses don't match up correctly. Well, play around with it! G'luck

Do what 1lo94 said. Pull out the radio and check the wiring. Maybe the wires for the two radios are different. Do a search on 95-99 eclipse radio wiring. I found a site one time that showed exactly what each wire color is for. That will help you out a lot. And also as a last resort, you should have the radio checked. It's possible someone sold you a messed up radio.

Thanks everyone I will check on the wiring it may be different for 95 and 98 but the connector is the same, or maybe someone sold me f.. up radio.

Take it to Circuit City. They'll check and mite not even charge you. The professionals know best.

well i had the same problem but i bought a new pioneer cd player the thing was the wires didnt match wright so i took it to bestbuy and gave a unvirsal wire cable and it worked and btw check ur speaker maybe they blown out after u took out the radio

ok, so what your saing is that the wires from 98 eclipse are different that 95, and if so what do you mean "took it to bestbuy and gave a unvirsal wire cable and it worked" also i checked the speakers with old radio they work.

well i actually since ur speakers are working u maybe hook up ur wire wrong take it to bestbuy and let them check it and they will tell ya i meant by unvirsal it was a mistake its a universal cable like a hookup cable

Circuit City (or Best Buy) should have the harnesses for the car. They're not universal!! They are specifically made for each car. Take it in to CCity

To tell you the truth, Best Buy employees arent trained in anyway! Circuit City employees take classes and training about products, installation, and how to help customers. Best Buy doesnt make their employees do anything. We are actually trained to install everything RIGHT!! <-- Just my thoughts and feelings

Was the radio out of an eclipse with premiun sound?....i have a 97 spyder and i bought a clarion indash monitor and had to rewire around the factory amp...the reason the stock cd player isnt working is because it requires a factory amp.

Yes, the cd player (im gonna call it radio) that I bought is from 97 eclipse and it came with the factory AMP, ( i can install that one in my car) here is the thing, I installed it then it required the cd code so I went to dealer and got the code tried it dont work but I tried it witha amp once and it still didtn work Ill try again, the old radio works with and without the amp???? i dont know whats wrong but ill try to do that, I dont need any wires to becaouse the connector is the same for 95 and 97.

to make it clear i have the cd code and I unlocked the radio but the cd player still doesnt work. no sound in am/fm, cassete, or cd player, in old radio I have sound.

well just because the plugs are the same doesnt mean that its wired the same....the wiring is very different between a premium sound system and a regular one. so eventhough you had the factory amp hooked up your car didnt come with one so the wireing is wrong and thats why its not working.

There are alot of different web sites that have wiring diagrams and scematics...just do a yahoo search for them.....The best way to go would be buy an aftermarket cd player and buy the right wireing harness adapter...the adapter wires to the cd player and plugs in to the factory plug in your car....or get the factory wiring harness out of an eclipse with premium sound...the decision is yours....if you have any problems let me know
