Hey guys, my mitsu has been giving me more shit than its worth, when ever i go above 45mph I get this really bad shaking from my transfer case area, so i dropped the case and drained the fluid and it was indeed silver, It was also stuck on there really good (i had to beat it off with a mini sludge, dont worry i used a wood dowel) but i have it off and the thing seems to be working fine. When i turn it its smooth and every thing seems fine. does anyone know how I could further test if this is my problem, or whats going on?

Open that bitch up. The rear aluminum housing comes off easily enough. There was a recall on tcases, and I Could go on for pages about it. Basically the dealer tries to say its already done. If you still have it, pour the silver oil back in before you take it in. The only surefire way to get it replaced for free is something like that, where they have no doubt its bad. Be VERY careful driving the car. I am one of the unlucky poeple that has actually locked up the tcase while driving. People have been killed because of this. Luckily I was going pretty slow, and the only casualty was a twisted tranny output shaft. :D

even though you were in a accident and voided the free recalls you can still get them done. you just have to pay for them

Tehy have no choice but to fix this, accident or not. It is illegal for them to refuse, the NTSB enforces this. Its a known safety problem and has killed poeple in the past. If the car is still driveable, they have to fix this ;) Its not a warranty anf they cant "void" safety recalls.
