Crazy night

Came back to tenafly... gotta get some shit and let's admit it, WPU weekends can get pretty dull. Chilled with steph and liz and billy for a little, then swung by kwang's and went to wendy's around 12:30. We got in line and saw in the lot rodrigo, sung, joe, sam spektor and tal. There were a couple cops in the lot, well anyway we get our food and go park and walk out to talk. I hear "Kasey" from behind me and think, "what the hell?" It was the cop. He motioned me over and said, "you have a provisional license don't you" of course I replied "yes..." and he asked why I had driven after 12. The other cop, the driver, asks where I'm from [If they run my info and know my name and license level, cant they find my damn address?] and when I said Tenafly he said "...Oh." really snobbily. Anyway running thru my head is "are you fucking kidding me?!", but i told the truth.. "I just got back from college for the weekend, I was just coming to eat with some friends." Well good ol Bergenfield officer Brown informs me that I must either leave my car in the wendy's parking lot overnight, or call my parents to bring it home... he said they'd call my mom but I just told him "she's asleep; and she doesn't have a license" and then he said they'd call my dad... I don't see how he'd get the car he comes in and my car back home w/o me driving... but whatever. I tell him I'd leave it overnight and go back to the group and tell them what happened, as the cop rolls by and goes "we'll keep an eye out for you."

As Rodrigo was driving me kwang and joe back, I got an idea. Rodrigo can legally drive past 12, so as long as he's driving and I'm in the car they can't do shit if they see the camaro goin and pull it over. So we park his car there and go back to my house. Searched inside for 15-20 min without waking my parents till I finally found keys for that's right, the ultimate stealthmobile, the hyundai. Since we had to go back almost all the way to wendy's and the cops were patrolling around (we saw them goin back and forth on washington ave), rodrigo drove once again. Pulled into that drive thru NVE bank across the street from wendy's and they went to rodrigo's car while I made a fast 25 mph brreak for the tenafly border. Made it without incident and parked the hyundai. Took my car out for a bit more around Tenafly, and back now.


sooo yea. goddamnit. these things piss me off, yet I feel a sense of jailbreak and freedom. I wasn';t gonan leave my car there cuz it's not the nicest neighborhood, ESPECIALLY at night, the "neighbor" drops out a little from "neighborhood" lol.

I usually don't pay attention to what cops have to say, some are ok, I have some for friends. For the most part, I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire.

never had a problem with cops, they are just doing their job, i never understood why people think cops are ass's for punishing them when they broke the law, however trivial. only cops ive ever had problems with were MP's, now they are a different story all together.

If they are just doing their job then it's all good, beeing hassled, or the way they go about doing their job is what makes some of them asses. The same way that they profile us is the same way we profile them. You know one time I got pulled over for exhibition of acceleration....in a freakin 86 6cyl firebird. I couldn't have "exhibited" a damn thing in that car/. It went 0-60 in like 2 weeks. It was because I was young and drove what looked to be a sportscar.

IROC, i used to be like you, i respected officers. never really even called them 'cops', but now i despise them. i have zero respect for them cause i used to work at a local amusement park and we hired local officers to come and work security on fri and sat nights. after dealing with the officers weekly i learned exactly how shady they are. plus, i after the officer that gave me my ticket i got a few weeks ago blatantly lied to a judge's face about what i did, i no longer give any cop an ounce of respect. stuff like this goes on all over, every place i have been to stuff like this goes on. when i am given a reason to change my opinion, i gladly will...

I kinda feel the same way. I dropped a friend off at this house that, yes, had some shady kinda people in it but I was only inside for long enough to find out when to pick him up. Then they follow me for about a mile and a half and peg me for failure to signal. That wasn't true because I only turned twice and signaled both times. I was only given a warning but the asshole searched my truck and tried to tag me for having binoculars. It was deer season and my truck says 'Hunter' down the side. Why would I have binocs?

do they think that you were trying to look out for cops wit sum binocs? if so they must really be stupid.

Cops are no different than people on this board some are awesome people and some are just assholes. It sucks that some assholes are put in positions of power like being an officer.

If you think that was being harrassed by a cop I have had 20X worse harrassment by an asshole cop. But just try to remeber there are also just as many guys/gals that are wonderful people that wear the uniform as there are assholes.

i don't even have my lisence yet and i allready dont like cops...ive been threatened to go to JAIL just for walking my dirtbike along the side of the road!

Yea, some cops are cool, just look at Andy Griffith, he was an alright guy.

way to long to read, but i read the replies haha. cops are doing there jobs when you get pulled over. if you have a sports car, your a punk. v6, v8 or a ricer. lol, plan and simple, some can be harsh on you for no reason like with me and tinted windows, but thats besides the point. there are some cops that just dont get any at night and have a bad day like the rest of us. dont let one a**hole give all them a bad name.we all have our jealous days

I have learned to not lie to a cop. It is better to just not answer then lie. Do not agree to anything either. If a cop asks you to let him/her search your car kindly say No, I do not give you permission. Some cops are pure @ssholes and should not be in a position of authority but when you need a cop and they show up you are sooooo greatful to them for being there protecting and serving us all. In my area it is city cops=@ssholes, county cops=pretty cool, state cops=very strict but not @ssholes.

I was pretty damn happy when i got distracted and locked my keys in the car running with almost no gas and a cop opened it for me...

you guys have it pretty rough.. around here we have township poilce, city cops, the county sheriff's department, and the state police station about 5 miles out.. but almost all the cops around here are cool.. they wont even give you a look unless you're doin 10 over, and a couple of em i know personally, know that i like to go fast, but they just tell me not to do it in a busy area.. cuz they dont wanna see me get hauled away in an ambulence..

i asked an officer in my town once why the county doesnt try positive reinforcement to stop street racing. i told him about how in california they open up drag strips to get the kids off the street and on a track. the officer said that the county gets too much revenue from nailing kids that get caught racing on the street to do that, and that the cops dont care cause thats how they get their paychecks. food for thought about the area i live in...

why did you even ask, what do you have against street racing you tree hugger?

i asked cause its dangerous. plus, the consequences, atleast around my town, are extremely strict. we've had a lot of deaths as a result of street racing in this area, and the cops/government are cracking down. i like racing and i would like to have a place to do it safely and without legal ramifications. plus, people complain about street racing and want the police to do something to stop it, but all they do is impose stricter penalties. i think they should go a different route, but im getting up on a soap box now, sorry...
