race headers

How much louder do race headers make rsx's. I have a type-s with a injen cai and i wanted to add some race headers but i am afraid it will make my car sound like shit. I have an aerospeed exaust on it now and it isn't very loud, so i have some room to work with i guess. just let me know your opinions.

It will increase your sound. By how much is a matter of testing.

Sorry, but just a suggestion. Its not an Arospeed exhaust, its an Arospeed muffler. Which means its only for sounds and looks. Switch for something that gives performance or if you get the headers and its too loud (don't you have to get a new exhaust with race headers anyways?) get a 5Zigen fireball. Although I dunno if the 5Zigen is compatible with the RH.

Your airflow's only as good as its weakest component...theres no point in getting headers if your don't have an exhaust to keep up the airflow

Yup. A muffler does diddly-squat.

Changing your muffler is like getting a penis englargement, but still not being able to get it up.

ok..chill on th muffler deal.. but i have read that exausts on rsx's aren't worth the money because you only get like 2 or 3 hp from it?

You only get a minimal amount of horsepower from adding an exhaust on any car. It's the way you use it in conjunction with other parts. For example, a car with a high flow exhaust that has the same diameter as a high flow cat, header, and intake will produce better gains than a car that doesn't have the exhaust but has the other parts. It's not about how much you gain from the parts separately, but about the way they work together. So if you get a race header, your car will be louder, but your gains probably won't be that great, probably just as much as just adding an exhaust would be.

Uhhhh about the gains on the header. No. You'll get a lot more than an exhaust would. The highest i've seen an RSX exhaust get on a stock engine is about 7 whp. I've seen the DC Race Header get over 15whp.
But yes, when put with other mods the exhaust will have a greater effect.

Oh, well I have no experience with the RSX I'm going off the experiences I've had with Integras, because with i/h/e you'll only put out 10-15whp if that on an Integra

Yeah, those B-Series motors are, sadly, not very responsive to mods like such.

I have a 97 integra gsr I was thinking of getting race headers as well. I have an Apexi exhaust and short ram Injen intake. I wanted to get the DC Sports race headers, will it be a good conjunction with these parts and isn't it illegal?

as far as i know, all the parts you listed have carb eo numbers. (legal)

Regular DC sport headers are legal but the DC sport RACING headers are not legal... I've wanted race headers for awhile... how meticulous are the state inspections typically? (i live in NC) would i probably pass if i got them?

Ok guys you gotta understand when it comes to RACE HEADER, you dont use the exhaust. You leave it open! Its RACE use only! If you want the best and expensive header. Get the SMSP! It puts down 18-20whp with bolts ons and aggressive cams!

Just to prove to you how well they work...

They've done numerous of test on them.

SMSP = teh win
oddly enough, the smsp h22 header has a 2.5 inch collector. I've always been one to think that 2.25" was plenty for an n/a 4 banger. But dyno charts by smsp have proven me wrong.
h22+smsp header (w/straight pipe; as the race header leaves no room for a cat) +2.5 catback = ~20whp gain
I'll go try to find those old charts if you guys don't believe it.

how much louder does the headers make your car sound? i took the silencer off my muffler and i still want it to sound louder
RSfrankenstein

if you want real sound take off your cat and dont even replace it with a hollowed out one or a straight pipe. keep the exhaust for looks and it will sound like you have an expensive exhaust

solid point Frankenstein, But if you want some serious noise i suggest installing a blow horn on your roof top. Use a cylinder mount with thrust blots to hold in place. Now, by mounting the horn on backwards the faster you go the more air flow going through your horn. the more air flow the higher the pitch. THe thermodynamics of pitch are fairly complicated. Ill attemp to sum them up so you can choose the type of horn that suits you best. First, fasteners on the discombobulator are frivolous in relations to your thrust bolts, thus decreasing static tension. Second the sylinder shaft adjust ment is only crucial on models before 1996. Lastly, pitch can on be formulated by pressing your ear to the tip of the horn while traveling at 88 mph. this allows for the 15th harmonic to be dynamically stimulated.

that is a little too deep for me. DC sports race headers dont have carb #'s because they dont believe in the law, like steven segal. flippin off police while while they're leapin a wall. for reals tho, DC sports knows whats up they dont answer to NO ONE. they make their own rules they are fuckin DC sports they own sports just like washington DC its the DC of sports ownage. Plus fuck the air resources board, domestic fuckers polute more anyways.

the blow off horn on top of the roof seems like too much work...i just want a louder sound...my muffler has a nice deep tone i just want it louder...btw i notice alot of people using cheap ass mufflers that have a high ass pitched sound like its squealing

was the leather on your drum made from cows or from buffalo. Everyone knows that car drums only work if they are made from bison.
