tranny swap

My trannie's front pump seal is leaking badly. I'm going to buy another tranny and beaf it up then swap them out.

My question is will an aode swap out with the 4R70W if so Will I need to change to processor to one that came with the tranny.

why not just buy a c4? no computer bullcrap to deal with. just bypass the aod's controls (there's not many) and install the new trans. reverse manual valve body and transbrake too! lol, prolly not. but i think a built c4 would do nicely.

I don't want to go that far with it. I want more like it is, and this is something that is going to be done in the next two or three weeks.

I don't want to go that route guys. My car has the 4.6 in it and I would like to put either the aode or the 4R70W. I just want to know if it will fit with out any expensive modifications (I'm poor)

I really dont have any good advise for ya on that one then. I know close to nothing about these new electronic controlled trannys and stuff. Whatever happened to carbs, straight axels, and little duece coupe? lol.

I'd run a stock AODE maybe with extra clutches stuffed in each clutch pak, new convertor, then use a Baumanator TCS and call it a day.

They are the same thing by the way.

Ya I know there the same except the the 4R70W is a wide ratio tranny. That is why I was worried about the computer needing to be changed. I found a tranny I can buy to build up I think I'm going to go GtStangs way. And do whatever else my dad thinks will be a good idea.
