not regularly, but i'll sometimes randomly look up and it's pretty sweet. i'm pretty much in the middle of nowhere, so there's no lights to worry about

I went out camping in redneckville a couple months ago and forgot how beautiful the sky looks outside the city. I took a few pics with my cheap camera but they turned out black :(

to bad with film and non film cams it require the shuter to be open on film for a least 15 min. if it is brite some exposers will need up to 60min to catch the lite

I remember looking up once and realizing I was actually looking off of the SIDE of the planet into space and not UP at all...it blew my mind. Of course, we were drinking at the time...

You also need a motorized tripod, that tracks the stars during the exposure. Otherwise, as the earth turns, the stars move and you just get a streaky mess.

On a good night you can get moon shots with maybe 2 seconds...

did not think i would have gotten this much response about star gazing... i have a celestron c-11 and a losmand tripod with a ramon goto tracking system .. go to bishop ca twice a year with my telescope club for four days of observactions picture taking and flat out pigging out. love my scopes about as much as the sweet sound of a rumbling V8...... look out   :iceslolan

Only even think to look up at the sky when pissed or otherwise out of my tree. At which time it looks rather good. From the limited amount I recall.
