Hi all--I am the owner of a 1994 Chevy Camaro that was involved in the flood of Marietta Ohio recently. I have many problems to attack but primarily my issue lies in getting the starter to turn over. I have power to all the systems in the car-(lights, horn windsheild wipers, etc) but no power to the starter. I have removed the starter and had it tested, it works fine. I have checked the battery cable and it tested good. I have replaced the starter switch, the theft deterant relay, and even tried to run a wire from the starter switch directly to the selonoid (sp?) to no avail. The ECU (computer) is in the engine bay and weatherproofed to some degree, so I assume it is good, (but the starter should turn without the ECU...?). PLEASE if anyone out there has any advice I would be greatly in their debt.

Run a jumper from the POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL to the 2 terminals on the SOLENOID.
WATCH OUT FOR MOVING PARTSIf it cranks trace it back till you find the corroded connection. Your ECU is irrelevant to this test. .§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§REFUSE TO LOSE§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§

I'd place my bets on corrosion too.

I have traced the problem to the theft deterrant module. Unfortunatly, I cannot find the module, so I jumped the theft deterant relay and was able to get spark to the starter. (Now I have to figure out how to make it start...) I was thinking of trying to find a module at a parts store but they dont have the specific part in their inventory. Also, I have no problem trying to operate the car without the module, but I dont know what else it might control, (fuel pump, ignition coil, etc...) SO my question now is A.) Specifically, where is the module, B.) Can it be permanately bypassed? C.) Is there another option?
