this guy must think i'm crazy: VR4 vs SVT Contour

i was just cruising on the highway last night and a svt contour comes rolling past me, he stays right on the side of me as if he wants to race.
instead i just drive normal
he eventually see's some other car, i beleive it was an older rx-7 and keeps bugging the guy to race but the rx-7 doesn't budge.

now for some reason this irritated me and i speed up on the side of his car and brake really hard and psssssssssshhhhhhhhhh
i then jump 2 lanes over and come back to the side of him again psssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh
now he acts like he doesn't want to race, could it be the bov? :evillol:
i then just hit the gas a little to make him think i'm about to punch it and he floors it, i then get on it full time and without downshifting to 3rd and put 2 1/2 cars on him pretty dang quick
i shut down and slowed down
3miles later i come out of knowere and crrep on the side of him letting of the intimidating sounds of the turbo and bov, and agian jump over 2 lanes and come back
i can now see his friend in the passenger seat looking at me as if he's saying (no not you again)
he floors it and i punch it downshifting this time but with my boost controller turned off, i quickly gave him 3 car lenghts and finally left him alone

Yeap, I had one for 6 months, insurance got to me and i decided to sell it (big mistake, now i regretting it and wished i would have just taken it off the road).. But yeah I agree on just seeing as a comparrison, But a low 15 second car against a 13 second car, I wouldn't even try. Unless that contour was turbocharged ;)

svt contours low 15 sec? i pissed off one lady in an SVT contour in my mom's chrysler, she started blowing carbon out the back and sped off... wish i had my car that time

well a freeway race is the best way to determine true hp. a car with little hp can be geared to go quick in the first 2 gears. but usually it falls flat on their face one you hit 3rd. that is beucas eits the lack of hp. now if you have a car that makes atleast 250hp the car won't stop acelerating after you hit third. in fact my car pulls the hardest from 60-120mph. since you got a blower now, you should know how it feels. also your car needs to be able to handle the turns, and needs to be able to stop. also being a good driver with lots of common sense doesn't hurt either. the VR-4 is designed for that kind of speeds so its right at home goin 100+ on the freeway. also when i'm on the highway very very little cars can match my speed. however from a stop the races becomes more and more even cuase most quick cars does 0-60 in around the same time. its always 3rd and up that determines the true different in hp.

example: me and turbo2nr are almost even to 60. but once i hit third hes goin to be seeing my tail lights get smaller and smaller. now imagine if i saw him on the freeway goin 70mph. i'm pretty sure i would dust off his probe no problem since i'm right in my optimal power band and boost hits instantly with no lag.

also last time me, my friend with a STi, and my friend with the Turbo MR2 was cruising home and this 4th gen prelude hazard us. my friend with the STi is in front so he dusted him. however i was right behind him, and when i heard him floor it, i floored it in 3rd and i almost rear ended him cause my car caught up to him too fast, and my friend with the mr2 was right behind me so i had to s*low down and let him pass me casue i don't want to slow him down by cutting him off to get in front of the lude. in the end i was right behind the mr2 no able to catch the lude cause he had like 7 car headstart from me slowing down too much to try not hitting him. boy was i mad also the traffic was gettin heavier and we were all goin 120mph. but we all slowed down once it got too heavy. no need to kill anyone.

i see what ur saying, but i havent taken mine out on the freeway yet. Also i need new brakes, my rotors are warped so stopping from high speeds isnt a very comfortable feeling.
