Hi im a newbie to all acuras. I got a blue 6 speed type-S and am pumped up about it. of course its slow being a non mod 4cyl and everything. I had a few questions id like to ask. 1st i want to put some exhaust, non ricey, something very low and rumbling, or at least something that isn't all a high pitch whine. Also id like to get about 50 more rwhp and 50 lbs torque, what parts do i need and about how much am I looking at. All of the cosmetic ups, i.e bodkit springs, tires rims i already have figured out just need to know what you rsx guys reccomend and what after market brands/parts that i need to avoid. I'm not sure but with the i-vtec may not be compatible with some parts or certain turbos, if so let me kno plz. damn these cars are great i love the rack and pinioin steering, thisis my 6th car and one of the most solid i have driven tho quite slow, i kno it has potential heh heh. thx a lot,
-James

well if all u want is 50 more HP/ft lbs of tq, get a supercharger for it. thats if you dont think youll get bit by the boost bug.

Slow my ass. :grinno: Canuck (one of the other RSX regulars) clued me in to the Fujitsubo Power Getter catback. Sounds absolutely incredible with or without the silencer (very deep growl). You also can't go wrong with Magnaflow, Borla or Greddy Evo 2 either. If you are loaded go with the Veilside Teardrop full titanium catback. Get a good header for sure like the Comptech stainless 4-2-1, or a race header if you can get away with it. You can turbo, but you may want to think about internals like the Toda package or other high quality setup. Other than that, congratulations- welcome to the forum- glad to have you around (even if the '05 isn't as good looking as the previous model). :evillol:

haha screw you rsx 05 is pimp shit the interior is incredible!! im for sure getting full exhaust, headers, ecu, short throw, and the most badass intake i can find is that really needed tho?? the intake im talking about.
eclipse- well my last car as a 93 stage 3 300zx TT so i alraedy got the boost bug lol that shit is quick as F**K. sadly im not loaded enough to get internals AND turbo thats about hmmm 5 months from now.. that will run me in about 5-6k if i do it right wont it?? i'll miss that 300 with the twin turbos and HIKAS is da shit!! insurance for a 17 year old is out the sky tho so i had to drop it specially since im movin out in less than 2 months.
anyways any advice is welcome, i need it cuz i dont kno anything. my 300 was hard as hell to work on tho i take it that the RSX isn't too bad to work on.

A new intake is crucial for the RSX. The stock airbox is huge and very restrictive. Most people opt for the Injen CAI. I run an AEM SRI now, but thinking of swapping in a CAI for summers. The RSX is easy to work on...you can damn near do anything yourself if you have the patience.

WTF my post didn't show....
Anyways, yah, congrats. The fujitsubo sounds amazing but Hondata has said that its a bit too restrictive.

how much would it take for me to get a high 13's quarter mile? just curious of course... as my 300zx twin turbo runs a 13.7 and i would like to get the rsx about as fast ET. is there a way to do this staying N/A?

You can, there are 12 second NA RSX's out there...
New tires, Hondata K-Pro, Energy Suspension Motor Mounts, Injen CAI, DC Race Header, exhaust. Probably a bit more than that. Not sure about the cost to run 13's, but I think all of the above would be less than 5K.

How streetable would a 12 sec n/a rsx be though? I'd imagine you'd have to raise your compression to at least 12.0:1. You'd need some really good tuning to get that running well on pump gas.
If you're staying N/A and wanting to drop down to 12 secs, the major parts that you're gonna be dropping big bucks on are cams, (+valves, springs, retainers) pistons (+resleeved block) and i'd imagine you'd be likely to port and polish your head while you're at it.

yeah, they aren't very streetable, I believe their running slicks and a few other things that wouldn't be ideal for daily driving :)
