tailpipe rattles

i have 1990 ranger with a 2.9 V6. 166K on it. when i turn the truck on and its in idle the tail pipe rattles, very annoying. also when i hit the accelorater it makes a quick rattle then stops. any suggestions?

Check the heat shield on the cat converter, they sometimes break loose and cause the annoying rattle. May have to get it rewelded.

hey thanks. i didnt reweld it but i put a clamp around it and moved it up a little bit. it had slip backwards a little. thanks it helped.
