Window motor replacement

I'm working on a 1999 Jimmy 2dr. My question is, What is the proper way to replace the window motor? After I drill out the rivets that hold the motor in, can I use nuts and bolt to reinstall or due I need to rivet it back in? Also, Should the window be in the up or down position?
