Import Resgistering and that sort.

I have a question about importing cars in from the UK, to the US. How would I go about registration for this car, get it approved and tagged in the US? Im planning on purchasing a car from the UK, and having it shipped over here and I just want to know how much trouble i'm in before I actually do it. Help is appreciated, thanx! - Jon
