So I have been approched by a mate, who has upgraded the turbo on his serries 4/savana serries rx7. Shape before the bat man one. SO he's offered his old turbo to me, which has been reecon'd. Its like cheap at 400 bucks NZ dollars. Now will that thing flow too much air for my car, or will it be sweet as? wat do i do? should i get it? Cos its cheap, and it has all new internals, like new compression wheel, and turbine wheel, etc,

Whats the goss, would it be rite for mi b18c teg? I only wanna run like 5 psi, so is it gunna be to laggy? that would be ok tho.

I don't know if that would work.... because RX-7's are turbine driven and "regular" cars are piston driven...
But I'm no expert, so if other people have said its ok, then I say go for it.

RX7's are turbine driven? Not exactly, they're rotary engines otherwise known as "Wankel" engines after the man who invented the rotary engine. I'm no Mazda expert but all turbo's work on the same principle so i'm sure his turbo WOULD work on the Integra. The question is how much work it would be to adapt the RX7 turbo to a manifold that could bolt to the B18. You need a lot more than just a turbo when you want to turbocharge your car, a brief list of items would be...

Turbo
Intercooler (optional, recommended when boosting over 8-10psi)
Bigger injectors
Oil lines
Reprogrammed ECU or rising rate FPR+FMU
Wastegate (RX7 turbo may have internal wastegate)
BOV
Charge piping
Air/Fuel gauge
Boost guage
Oil pressure gauge
Downpipe
Bigger exhaust, 2.5" at least

That should be about it, i'm sure i left a few things out but you get the idea, you can't just slap on a turbo, it takes planning.

yes i do realise u just dont blot one one man.

what im asking is the sucker too big for the project.

I already have all that other stuff lined up, like extra injector, bov, cooler, piping, wastegate etc. I know someone who can trick my factory cpu so it doesnt sence boost, however i will run a new computer later in the not to distant future.

But i was told that this rx7 turbo, could possible flow too much air, its good for like 400hp, i was told. I dont know shit about the rx7. So is it possible to run this sucker. I only wanna run 5psi on my factory internals.

What year RX7? I think all of the turboed rexes had Hitachi turbos. You'd have to find a compressor map to really determine how good a match it would be.

The second gen '87-'92 RX7 turbo II used the 13B engine, with a displacement of 1.3L, and a single, intercooled turbo. (8.5:1 CR pushing 182bhp @ 6500 rpm). I don't know exactly what turbo it was.

The third gen '93+ was also the 1.3L 13B engine, but used twin sequential, intercooled, Hitachi HT12 turbos. (51mm turbine, 57mm compressor, 0.6 A/R, 11psi max, 9:1 CR for 255bhp @ 6500 rpm  )

IMHO, I think either of these turbos might be too small. They are intended to provide higher boost (11psi) to a small displacement engine (1.3L). You want low boost (5psi) to a larger engine (1.8L). They probably don't quite have the CFM capacity you want. I think you might have problems with efficiency and even worse, surging.

A better solution might be a T3 Garret off of a junked Volvo or such.
