not bad, not bad at all...your right though the camera man had too much moutian dew or something. i just never got why people would run around jumping all over things... lol... there are some guys around here that jump off of the gym at the HS (its about 2 1/2 stories off the ground) on to an over hang and then do the ground. some of it looks kool and some of it looks like they are falling. then there are the kids who try the double 7 and single 2 set by the tennis courts...that is funny...ive only seen on person land it, and he was on a skate board.

I guess you could say, exercise...and pretty much for the same reason as any other sport, you enjoy doing it. It's just that lotsa people don't recognize it 'cause its not all that common...'tis fun though, and more diificult than it looks.

ya im pretty sure its pretty hard, and ya it would give a great cardio vascular work out. and show off that you can jump from one hand rail to another with out killing your self or do a back flip off of the 2nd story of a building. probably would help a great bit with other "extreme" sports such as wakebaording or skating...do some madd tricks on a longboard too...

But you don't have to believe me about this. Believe the top fuelers, aircraft jet engineers, you know, professionals.

Their intakes are not funnels, in fact, the opening is the smallest part of the intake.

Or perhaps a ramjet engine would illustrate my point:

You know whats funny? I gar-un-tee that the size of the intake on the physical engine block itself are MUCH smaller than the size of the opening on the front of those hoods. I.E. Your still looking at an outward opening funnel, its just a funnel that bulges in the middle. Also on that site with the ram jet.... its kinda funny he forgot to mention this pic: http://www.onera.fr/conferences/ramjet-scramjet-pde/images/se-x-422 or the pic entitled "Thor ramjet (Bloodhound)", or any one of the other pics showing the same thing. If you look closer that bulge is called a diffuser, basically it straightens out the flow of air so that its not turbulent. Take a look at any wind tunnel and right after the fan there is going to be a huge grill to straighten out the air flow. Well its the same principle. However if you want an expert opinion try: http://travel.howstuffworks.com/turbine3.htm and http://travel.howstuffworks.com/turbine6.htm

The idea behind those intakes is to create high pressure zones above the funnels in the plenum. If pressure is increased, flow will increase.

Could you please explain that in more detail, particularly the relationship between flow rate and pressure.

its not that hard to figure out. the more flow you have the more air you are supplying that the engine isnt using and there for the more pressure you have....its like pokeing a hole in a water baloon then filling it up (what a comparison). if you fill it up very slowly (very little flow) it will emptry jsut as fast as you fill it up, but if you put a fire hose to it it will fill up very quickly and will eventually burst form pressure....

Or go so fast, it goes back in time. Or foreward, depending on which way the engine is going relitive to the spin of earth.
