I assume the Z34 had the DOHC engine, which, by the haynes book, 44ft-lbs and an extra 1/4 turn at the second step. Order goes a bit like this...

6 2 3 7
. . . .
. . . .
5 1 4 8

Hope this helps you out.

Bolt tightening sequence, blake, bolt tightening sequence. They know its a six. You gotta torque 'em like lugnuts, in a pattern and increasing increments, or else the head will warp. Did they use TTY (torque to yield) bolts in the 3.4? If so, you need new bolts. If you don't replace TTY's, they break or don't torque right. If it doesn't-ignore this.

I think you do need new head bolts for this thing. Not positive but it couldn't hurt could it?

they do have torque-to-yield head bolts. The Fel-Pro part # for replacements is ES72177, and you'll need 2 sets. unlike most head bolt sets, they are per bank, not per engine.
