ok, heres the story, Im a Honda tech, not a Nissan tech. My "babys momma" (for lack of a better term) has a leak under the drivers seat...brake fluid, also occasionally smells fuel..my guess is a fuel line, havent gotten it up in the air yet. First, anyone have any thoughts on splicing in a piece of brake line?? I would never do this on the job to a customers car, and...hmmmm...I'd love to see her hit a brick wall, but she does drive my son around on the weekends, so to me, the liability/risk sounds too high...also all the lines are brittle...front to back...oh, I live in Cleveland...home of snow and salt..hehe.My thought is...to do the job right, get all the lines, fuel and brake (5 lines) from the dealer pre-bent, about200 bucks in parts..and 300 bucks labor..on the side...too much?? Any idea what the dealer might do and/or charge for this job?? Should I just replace the bad line and wait for the others to break while shes going 75 mph down the highway?? I dunno I don't want to rake her over the coals since she is my sons mother, but on the other hand...I pay her a fortune every week so I can be a father, and I dont want my son in an unsafe car, but I'd love to see her and only her brains splattered all over the pavement....Not so sure my son would appreciate that comment...but hey, I already typed it so I'll leave it here....well, sorry for the story, just thought I'd add a little humor that all the other hard-working single dads might enjoy...appreciate any advice ya got....im off to the mentally insane forum...hehe
