How to Take of Need Maintanenece light of? on 98 civic dx

I got a Honda civic and the little maintanence indicator turned red wich means it needs maintenance, but oil and everything is fine so im not doing anything so how do i reset it to green?

pull the neg term off your batery for a few mins ... that will reset your ecu... but if that light comes back on let me know.

the standard way is with the key at off position->press the bottom of the trip meter(keep holding it)->turn your key to ACC positon(not to start the engine) for 10 section->start your engine...then the light should be off.

I don't mean to sound innovative or something but why don't you try figuring out what the problem is first?

Most likely because it is not a problem light :loser: it is an idiot device designed to make you take the car in for regular service. It has nothing to do with the car itself other than the milage. After a preset amount of miles driven the light will turn from green to yellow and then later to red. It just helps keep track of when you need to change oil and do regular maintenance.

yeah what VTEC said.....if u got a code the engine light will be on......mainenance is just timer.
