I purchased the 04 foglight kit from ebay and finished installing them last night....but an interesting thing is that I was prepared to take it to the dealer to have them program the BCM (body control module) to recongnize that foglights are installed. So I finish installing the relay and positive wire in the power distribution center and I try to turn them on for kicks and VOILA!!! they worked....no programming required, just saved $50 or so :naughty: .

I am wondering if it because I have an LS or what?? any theories??

It may have simply been a mistake on the assembly line. This time though it was in your favor! I've heard of this happening sometimes. If you're really curious, look at the list of RPO's in the glovebox and see if the code is there for the foglights.

Here's a list for '01 models. Not sure if they're the same for '04 but it's a good starting point.

Sometimes, the BCM will come programmed for that option but, not have the lights installed. I was talking to the dealer about it and he said that some BCM's come already programmed for that option.
I just said to heck with it and ran the lights off a switchable source and used a relay.

Nice having an extra set of lights isn't it.

Was not hard at all....just the diagram in the instructions for where the positive lead snaps into the power distribution center was not the best. The longest part was taking all those clips out for the lower air dam...the rest just bolts in.

Good point....I'll take a look at the RPO code label tonight.

Couldn't imagine the difference they make at night on a dark road....well worth it IMHO.
