I have been having the same fault of no dash display and engine cutting out seconds after starting for about 15 months.
4 days ago my Voyager 3.3L failed to start again due to the usual fault of no dash display. I disconnected and removed the display and inspected the circuit boards but couldn`t find anything out of the ordinary.
Whilst the dash display was out I reconnected the wiring connector to it and lo & behold all power had returned and engine started normally.
I then switched off the engine and left the key in the run position.
The dash lights were on but when moving the display cluster around they went out. Further movement of the display brought the lights back on.
Whilst I can`t pinpoint exactly where or what the fault is,I am starting to think that it may be in the wiring harness or connector at the rear of the display. This would explain why the power to the display would come and go while I refitted the cluster back into the dash.
I hope this post is of help to anyone with this problem.

UPDATE!!!
Had my electrician mate check the display cluster and found 3 dodgy solder points on PCBs. (1 at connector and 2 on boards)
Re-soldered them and no problems since.
