well, yesterday I had an accident, my first accident in 6 years of driving but what an accident. travelling at around 150kms an hour on a deserted and poorly lit road I plowed into a roundabout with a high kerb and have probably destroyed my car as a result. I was speeding and i couldn't slow down fast enough when i saw the roundabout.
I blew out all four tyres, the dashboard is completely ripped to pieces inside the car and looks like its been pushed back into the car somehow, the two airbags went off, the rims are all destroyed, the hood and front bumper are gone, the driver side front quarter panel and door are damaged to the point where they shattered and split to pieces, my radiator blew and so far i don't know if the front axle or chassis has been damaged. I'll find out in a few days after the cops release my car.
Point is, don't speed, i coulda killed someone yesterday and i can't believe how lucky i was to not have flipped when i hit that roundabout. It coulda been so much worse than it was but thank god no one got hurt but the car. If theres anything i've learnt from this, its that i will never speed again, if not for safety reasons then for financial reasons as i will be paying off the damages to my car for at least the next 5 months. Be careful out there, god bless and drive safe.

many of us in here including myself have bashed our precious rides we put sweat and dolla bills into, its an aweful feeling to see it messed up, its even worse when its your fault. you can do two things, be pissed, or be pissed and learn a lesson and take that with you. i about lost my whole mouth in an accident in my last lt1, it wasn't my fault but it still taught me to always be ready for the unexpected. you said you were speeding so if you are anything like the rest of us you probably were paying pretty good attention you were just going to damn fast. dont mean to preach or anything, just sayin ive been there too.

anyone whos seen my posts, knows that ive certainly had my fair share of accidnents in the RS, and even parked the IROC on top of a chain link fence. i think there was a line in a movie, touting a boxing saying. youve got a plan till you get hit, well, youve been hit, the gettin up is up to you. from what ive seen, your doing a good job gettin up, thats what really matters.

Well the cars pretty damaged but I'm gonna get it fixed. My parents have agreed to give me a loan to fix the car, that is if it is repairable. AT this stage i'm gonna get a set of new rims and tyres and most likely i'll also be getting the whole car resprayed since i was gonna get it done anyway. I'm okay by the way, aside from a few bruises on my legs, just lucky the car didn't flip.
And yeah 89IROC&RS I remember reading about your accidents too :p right now all i'm hoping is the car can be repaired, if not i'll take the LT1 and see what i can do with it. Thanks for your concern guys.

okay i'll try and get some pics of the car up, but it'll be a couple of days before the cops let me have it back. until then i'm keeping my fingers crossed that it can be repaired.

lucky i was to not have flipped when i hit that roundabout. Camaros don't "flip" (roll over) during that type of crash except if they are ramped up by something. That's why we drive 'em: so we can throw 'em round the turns fast as we want (we might spin tho). We'll save all the roll-overs for those Shaky Utility Vehicles (calling them "sport" is false advertising)..§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§REFUSE TO LOSE§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§
