Help! 96 Rodeo 3.2 stalls after running for a bit

Hello and thanks in advance for your help.

I have a 96 3.2L 2wd Rodeo with 100K that is developing a problem. On two occasions now the truck has taken to stalling as the rpms drop to idle. This occurs after the engine has warmed up. The engine can be restarted only if the gas is applied and the rpms held above 1500. When it is acting up in this fashion the engine runs sluggish until it hits 2200 rpms or so. After the vehicle has sat long enough for the engine to cool it will run fine. This problem is intermittent and does not happen everytime it is driven. One symptom that may be related, the CEL has come on twice while being driven around. The light went off on both occasions while being driven. The light being on did NOT happen just before the stalling. I recently replaced the PCV and intend to clean the EGR Valve this weekend. I also plan to do the fuel filter and Fuel Pressure Regulator this weekend as well. From what I've read here I don't think its the intake manifold gasket (I hope).

I would sure like to read your thoughts.

Thanks

Also check your belts; I have the sister year to yours (i.e. 97) and one day she just stalled out of no-where. Turned out to be one of the three belts were going; another possibility is the idle sensor/regulator??

I'd have the codes pulled first. You see how varied the suggestions are already...

Now my 2 cents. Could it be a coilpack? Plugs in good shape?
