Hey, im gonna be getting my turbo soon and i figure with the turbo and intercooler it should put me at about 203hp, how can i get more horsepower on stock internals (d16y8). I was thinking Throttle Body, Exhaust, and hi-flow catalack converter. What other bolt ons can give me some more horsepower????

maybe an intake manifold or nitrous intercooler sprayer.

i would up grade the fuel system, boost controller if the kit doesnt have one, exhaust.

Not even close.

When get'n turbo, you'll need to get a full 2 1/2 exhaust or 3 inch but not necessary. Get a skunk2 manifold , upgrade your fuel injectors to 450cc is good and ditch the FMU and get yourself hondata engine management system. www.hondata.com . You'll see more gains when its tune correctly.

where did you get 203 from? definaetly want to upgrade exhaust to 2.5 or 3. intake would be nice to have(elderbrock) 440 or 450cc injectors with either the hack or honda/uberdata/all the other best choices.
what do you have right now?

heard the Edelbrock intake manifold was better and easier to install than teh skunk 2 since the skunk2 dont leave much space b/e teh firewall and it.

yeah i saw that 203hp on a dyno report somewhere, i think turbod16.com, it had stock internals and a intercooled turbo setup... but anyways how can i acheve that 215hp range on a d16y8? i was thinking...
Turbo Kit set at 9psi
440cc injectors
intercooler
edelbrock intake manifold
edelbrock 65mm throttle body
exhaust
hi flow catalystic converter
what else would be needed to get in that range?

are you going with a kit or custom? if kit, which one?

203hp not 202.5hp? jk.
like most people said. upgrade your fuel first, and managemnt, then i would attack the breathing side of things. 3inch exhaust, test pipe(no cat), larger town pipe.

I don't mean to burst your bubble, but don't be suprised if your numbers are lower than 203whp. With stock internals, you're not gonna see 200whp. You might get 174whp give and take 4 or 5 horsepower, which is still not bad. I hope you upgraded the fuel pump. New intake manifold. Bigger exhaust helps. If you have a boost controller, turning it up is at your discresion on stock internals....I've heard good things and bad things about running over 10psi of boost on a D-series so do some research. S-Vafc will give you an extra 15-20whp but you'll DEFINITLY, without question, have to have GET IT TUNED.

with any force air induction you will need a high flow exoste and injectors.
running over 10 psi is not good for an engine with stock internals. it would cut its life in half.
people running d16y8's and getting near or over 200whp is amazing and have put a lot of time effort and $ -- over 5g's

werd, we can tell you what things in the kit will be helpful to replace if you are getting a preassembled one.

lemme see, you do not need a test pipe you can keep your cat(dont waste money on a high flow one, they do nothing), 200hp is perfectly fine on a stock d16. 10psi with a quality tune will get you there. dont need a fuel pump with afc, dont need a new manifold, and exhaust ideally should be 2.5-3. you wont see a huge power difference between 2.5 to 3 but it will help your turbo spool quicker
