generally, they do not have much mileage on them, but there isnt really a set mileage that they have below, but they are lower, it is due to japan's strict emission laws requiring the replacement of motors to keep emissions down instead of passing smog checks, atleast i read this b4, kinda makes sense i guess. hope that helped -Ryan

Thank you all for replying. well, last december my timming belt broke on my 92 honda prelude si. so, i had it towed to one of the shop that a friend of mine works at. he works there as a part time. anyways, since my car have 189 something thousands miles on it, i thought i might as well have them replace the motor with a newer motor. i told them to go ahead and put a 1995 or 1996 motor in it. then, about 4 or 5 days later they call and said my car is done and ready to be picked up. they had put a 1997 integra Vtec motor in it and it's from Japan. they said the motor is from Japan and that there's about 40 something miles on the motor. i was hoping they replace my motor with a 95 or 96 prelude si motor, but they didnt and the motor has already been installed and everything. i have no clue about the integra motor. i didnt know if it is better then the original motor that i have or not. the thing that i dont understand is why all motor from Japan has 40,000 miles on them and no more( FLAVA888 had answer this question). one more thing i like to ask is.... do i now have a better motor on my car? did i got myself a good deal? cost me $ 2,400.000 for the labors and all.
