I have a 2001 Town and Country with 3.8l, 48,000 miles. runs great. I plan on keeping it for a long time. Is there any preventive maintenance I should be doint in the near future other than oil changes, air filters? I used to drive bmw's and would replace water pumps before 60k because they tended to go after that. Is there anything like that with these engines? Also the maintenance in the owners manual is a lot less than what is in the haynes manual. which should I follow?

thanks,
joe

3k oil changes, 30k trans service, 15k brake service, 60k flush, 80k plugs. thats about it. 2001's are pretty reliable.

Even thought they say the plug should last 100k by 60K do a tuneup, tranny fluid change and coolant change . We have a 2004 T&C and it interesting to see tranny service was 60K even under the severe schedule . I think more like 40-45K for me .
