Dome & door lights dont turn off...PLEASE HELP!

Whats up guys, i just recently purchased a 1999 Z71 (new body style). So far i love it. It has the LT package so its loaded out and runs great. My concern is this....
The dome and door lights dont seem to turn off anymore when i shut the doors and lock them. Yesterday it worked fine, they shut off after about 10 or 15 seconds and it was fine.
I tried messing arouind with the dome override but on both settings the lights still stay on after all doors are closed securely.
Could it be something with how the lights sense that the door is locked?? or is the dome override button not working or something?

did you check the button in the door post that tells the lights to come on and go off to see if its corroded or rusting ..my 90 gmc had that problem ,but easy to clean uo ..

I have a 96 Z71 Ext Cab and my dome would go out, then the next morning it would be on again. I ended up removing my Remote Keyless Entry Module up under the dash, problem solved, but no Keyless Entry. I installed an Audiovox Prestige alarm to cover the keyless entry functions and everything works the way it should. For you, your module could just need replacement. Good Luck. -Chris
