radio just shut off... anti theft light is blinking

Hey while i was driving the other day my radio just shut off, the next day my car died so i took it to the dealer and he put in a new alternator... but the radio still wont come on.

What can the problem be? Is there more to it to get the radio back on?? And if i replace the factory radio with my cd deck will it work??

check ur manual on how to reset the radio w/ the code. it probably flashing anti-theft at you b/c the batt was disconnected when they replaced the alternator. they should have entered in your code for you too.

(a) how do you get it to come on? Use the security code for the radio (see the owner's manual). If you've lost it, you can pull the radio out, get the serial #, take it and the VIN (and your firstborn child, and plenty of backsheesh) to the dealer, and they'll tell you the code.
(b) Can you just replace the factory radio & it will work? Sure (though that might have its OWN security code!!)
