Hi!
It’s time to re-tire the Explorer, last time I did this Firestone picked up the tab.
After 35K on BFG’s, one has developed a weird vibration that can’t be explained (or warranteed). I stopped at a Firestone dealer to see what they had available and was basically shown one tire, the Dueler. The price of the tire isn’t too bad, but when you start adding stems, mounting, balancing, this and that, it adds up quick $$$.
I looked at the Destination LE and was told that it’s a bargain basement tire and isn’t a very good choice for my Explorer. Then I checked the survey charts at Tire Rack and it rates up towards the top.
Anyone else run these tires? Whad ya think?
I do about 90-95% on road driving, plus snow about 4 months of the year.
It looks like the Tire Rack is the way to go?
Thanks.

The Destination LE is one of the best highway all-season tires available. That's why it ranks very high in our customer surveys. I've driven on these against the best Michelin, BF Goodrich, Goodyear, and other major brands and have always been impressed with the Firestone's ride and handling. That would be one of my top picks for an on-the-road tire. The only thing they don't do well is off-road traction. It's strictly a highway all-season.

Thanks for the information.
What tire would be a good go-between?
I really liked the Dueler Revo but the price is a little out of my league.
What about the new Destination A/T? I don't see much information about it.
Any ideas would help.
Thanks again!
