what to do with an ol 89 firebirdi

i have an old 89 firebird that i have kept the body and paint and interior in great condition and the motor is still flawless but i want it to be faster and able to whoop some other competion just has a challenge i wanna beef it up... any suggestions on how to do that such as waht engine/exhaust/transmission/headers and such also if i should lower it or what not id appreciate any good advice

right now its just a basic 2.8l v6 so its not the quickest or anything its all stock basically so i can build from scratch i guess... so just suggest away on what i should do to it

in the old days, ha ha im showing my age. we would just drop in a 455 sd m40 trans duel exhast and watch the tires burn

get a crate 385 700r4 tranny posi wit 3:42's, 3:73, or 4:11 gears and u will do more then whoop on people all for less then 7k

they have alot of stuff for that motor like the computer chip custom ram air a cam full exhaust and you should be running 15s
