okay, i have a 97 lumina, i noticed under the hood there's a cruise control module near the strut tower on the driver side. However, the lumina didnt have the cruise control installed. Or at least when we bought it, we assumed it didnt have it.
It's obvious the control module for the throttle is there... what else do i need to install the cruise control? do i need another module and the controls? where are the controls located, what do i have to do and what parts do i need?
also, if i bypass the VATS system, can i start the car with a regular GM key without the resistor so long as it is cut correctly?
please help, i really want the cruise control but the only thing i know about it is
1. there are no controls on the inside of the car
2. there is a control module connected to the throttle body
3. i want it!!
also, did they ever come with a moonroof or can i install one?

The controls are all on the end of the turn signal stalk. I'd be suprised if they aren't there. they don't put extra parts on cars for no reason.
Why do you want to bypass the VATS? You could, but you's have to solder in a resistor of the correct value into the wiring for the ignition switch.
You can have whatever type of moon/sun roof you want put in any car, just be prepared to pay a fortune for it, or if you get it done cheap, be prepared to have it leak water.

The lettering is usually (like mine) worn off the control. the little switch is on when moved toward the steering wheel. The button on the end is to set speed. Pushing the slider toward the wheel will accelerate. Holding the button in will coast. Happy cruising!!

get me the last 8 digits of your vin and I can tell you if your car was equipped with cruise. It's possible someone broke the turn signal lever, and replaced it with a non-cruise lever from the junkyard. If that's the case, it's just a matter of replacing the lever, and you're "cruisin"

yeah, even my 1990 lumina had working cruise. It surprises me that yours doesn't. I'd start by replacing the stalk, your going to have to anyways when you get cruise, and if you replace it right away, and cruise is there, your set. Keep us informed
