street ported or nonported?

i have an 83 GSL N/A and im wondering what the difference between street ported and nonported engines is. i also was wondering if there is a way to find out if my engine is street ported or not. any feedback would be appreciated--thanx

well your engine wasnt ported from the factory and if it hasnt been rebuilt befor then its not ported if it has been rebuilt then it may have been ported but there is realy no way to tell unless you tare it down
the difference between the two is the the street port means someone used a grinder and enlarged the exhaust ports to improve flow

drive a stock 12a Fb and you'll see, if your car is more powerfull (at least 25-30hp) its because its nicely tweaked, or tweaked and ported.
you can also remove your intake and check out the size of your intake port (they are ported on streetported engine, exhaust ports might not be, rpmtuner doesnt seem to know much) and compare them to non-ported 12a ports
