removing a starter

hi everybody...i am new to this forum and im so lost... :confused: ...i hope i am in the right place....i own a 1993 ford taurus 3.8 fuel injected v6...if that helps any...what i wanted to know is how many bolts are there on the starter to remove it and are there any wires that are attached to this starter block that needs to be removed also.....thanks for any help i receive...thx again..tyler

There should be three bolts, if memory serves correct. It's been awhile for the old 3.8 ltr. The first thing you need to do is buy a haynes manual. It will give you step by step processes for doing all kinds repairs and general maintenance items. Make sure you disconnect the negative terminal on the battery before you start removeing anything! :sunglasse

hi again...its 2am and i got the starter off....it had 2 bolts instead of 3 but thats ok it made me more cautious...the bolts were located one in the back bottom right and the 1 i loosened from the negative cable on the top left...took awhile to figure it out.....but its done...ty irish30 for your input...tyler
