I got 45 dollars from mom and pop. for some reason my chinese relatives are cheap they dont even give me a nickle. Arent you supposed to get it till you get married?

I think a lot of chinese people are kind of cheap.

i remember a few years ago i got this email about "how you know you're Chinese Canadian" and it had all these things that were right, like the cheap relatives, that plastic sheet on the steps, the massively squeezed out toothpaste, etc. :lol2: some crazy stuff. but i haven't received any "lei si" (or whatever :o ) and i'm not expecting too, except from my grandma.

Its the best part of Chinese New Years!

Yea I got them from my grandparent and my parent. From what I was told, when + after you get marry, you have to give them. Enjoy it while it last haha

You keep recieving till you get married ... I got about $45 dollars too ... Went and bought my car some motor oil, an oil filter and gave it a bath .. $45 well spent!

alright, $50 from grandma. :)
