I need to replace the front engine mount on 97 Taurus GL. Any hints?

Under the engine mount is a 21mm nut(I think the size is correct) remove that nut. At the rear of engine on the passenger side is the other mount. Remove the nut from that one as well. Support the engine with a jack and piece of wood between the jack and the oil pan. Jack up the engine until the stud clears the subframe. There should be to bolts the attach it to the engine block. Remove them and replace the mount. Some times it is a little tricky to line up the stud in the mount with subframe when lowering the engine. An assistant controlling the jack while you watch can help. If you have a long pry bar you can pursuade it as well. Just watch what you pry on to line it up. :sunglasse

I took out the radiator in order to change the front mount on my 94 Sable and it made it a lot easier. I was in the process of replacing the front head gasket and so I had to remove the radiator anyway. I knew I had to change out the mount and so I combined the two jobs and it made changing the mount that much easier.
