I was racing a few of my friends in my truck Its and Auto trans. I wanted to try something they called power breaking. They said it was fine and wouldnt hurt anything. So i put my foot on the break and got my RPMs up to about 2500 before i launched i ran faster against my friends mustang so i tried it again and went up to about 3000 RPMs. then i did it a few more times. Well about a week later i took my truck into the dealership because the break light was on. They changed the breaks under warrent :) but i was wondering if the reason my breaks were so worn down was because of the power breaking, if thats what its called. Im also wondering if i could do damage to my torque converter and if so what should i do? The truck is a daily driver.

Powerbraking shouldn't wear down your brakes, unless you're rolling around riding your brakes. If you sit still while braking, why would that wear down your brakes?

All it does is heat up your transmission, which is bad. But if you do it here and there. No permanent damage will be done.
If you're doing it all the time, then you might want to invest in a transmission cooler and a beefier torque converter.
