Ive been having a problem that is driving me nuts with my nissan 240sx .
its a 92 se hatchback. the problem is that i have put in a new clutch kit in ...nothing performance just aftermarket...and had the flywhhel resurfaced.. i put it all back together and when i was trying to bleed the lines it acted as though there was air in the lines. the clutch pedal just drops to the ground. so naturally im thinking slave cylinder... so i replaced it and still nothing. it is the right clutch because i pulled it out and measured it up with the old one and it all matched. the only other thing i can think of is that nissan clutch dampening box thats bolted to the chassis. has anyone had this prob? or have any advice?...if you do i would realy appreciate hearing what you have to say so thanks.

did you bleed the lines? you make sound like you didn't and you still have air in the lines. Or it could be the throw out bearing where it is getting stuck and not returning. Make sure your clutch fluid is also filled up to the proper level.

there should be no reason why you have to even bleed the master and slave cylinder, casue you did not remove the lines didn't you? anyways also the if air was to get in, you should try to gravity bleed it first. ( that is to just crack the line fitting on the master cylinder and the speed bleeder valve on the slave cylinder. after you see fluid coming out. you tighten both of them. then you keep on pumping the pedal. after a while you'll start to feel the pressure build back up in the pedal. then just bleed the clutch like normal procedure.

If all else fails, you might try removing the clutch dampening box that is in between the slave and master below the car. It's a useless part that is notorious for trapping air. You can remove it with no harm to the system at all, just maybe a little added noise/vibration you won't notice. The only tricky part is making a fitting to attach the hydraulic hard line to the soft line coming out of the box. Look under your car and you'll see what I mean. Good luck.

well after much pain in the @$$ its fixed.
but for future refrence anyone who runs into this problem .... i found that nissan had a tech bulliten on this subject ... it was air trapped in the dampening box and in order to get it out you have to jack the front end of the car up 2 feet off the ground and then start bleedin .... it takes forever but finally it worked.. but thank you all very much for your input i greatly appreciate it..
