BOOSTEDSPYDER showed these http://www.machv.com/throtbodseal.html
to me when I told him about my TB leak.
Has anyone ever done this and can you offer any tricks as to doing it?
My manuals are worthless as to anything about the TB except for removal and installation........

There are vfaqs for doing it. Thats all I used. Once you get in there and see whats really going on, its all very simple anyway. The only thing that stands out in my mind is the screws that hold the TB plate on. Be ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN tat you use high strength loctite on those screws. If they come off they will go through the motor. From the factory they are "mushroomed" on the backside so they cant come out (you'll feel te resistance when you take them out). I recomend using a hammer and punch to try to replicate that when you are done. You cant be too safe there. OTherwise, its pretty straightforward.

Its easy, but thats not to be mistaken for something that cant be screwed up. Its very important that it is done slowly, carefully, and correctly until you've done a few. But it is "easy" :) Good luck.

You will remove that spring before you remove the throttle plate. It wraps 2 or 3 full turns around IIRC, so its got some force on it, but remaval and instal is doable. The vfaq explains in more detail.
