2001 Taurus A/C Flow Problem

I recently attempted to change my climate/radio control face with another one that had the electronic climate control. I plugged it into he exisiting wire harness of my Taurus, but it only utilized one plug instead of all four. The three left unused plugged into the original face plates A/C controls. Anyways, the new face plate's A/C controls did not work, but when I put the old face plate back in, my A/C would only push air from the windshield ducts and not the normal vents. The air flow adjuster still works, as well as the temp control. But the airflow selector only lets air through the windshield. It does not respond to the switch between vents and floorboards. I checked all of the interior fuses to see if I burnt any of them out, but they all looked fine. Does anyone know how to fix this or heard of anything like this?
Thanks

It operates on a vacuum controlled system. Make sure that all the colorful little lines are plugged in. If the vacuum supply is lost then it sends the blend doors into a fail safe mode so you can clear your windshield for safety reasons. :sunglasse

Found the extra bundle......It WAS the vacuum lines. Do you know if it is possible to use the electronic climate control faceplate with the standard wire harness? I noticed the electronic climate control faceplate only utilizes one wire bundle. Is there are anything else I need to do to make it work? I did notice there was a small tube in the back that is vented toward the front of the plate. It appears to have an electrode of some kind protruding into the tube.

Not that I know. The GEM module is programmed for the manual controls. You may need to replace it as well. The tube you are refering to is the inside temp sensor. It tests the temp inside the passenger compartment to achieve the desired temp that is set on the EATC(electronic automatic temperature control). :sunglasse
