Well guys, first thing is i apologize for any writting errors, but english is not my language....
Now here is the deal, i live in mid-florida... and it rains 40 % of the time, and everytime it rains it doesn't rain it POURS!!!!! and my babycar ( Eclipse Spyder GS 97 ) gets flooded.... both front seats get soaked and the little space where the roof goes when it opens gets full of water...
for the font seats it looks like the water goes into the roof frames and leaks where the roof meets the front, for the problem in the back i think that the rear window is leaking somewhere allowing that space to get full of water...
All this is getting me really mad because everytime it rains hard, even when i'm driving i got a wet car ( even i get soaked sometimes ), and sadly if i found no good solution i might have to take the drastic measure ( that i don't want ) of selling my little baby ( and with this problem i think i'm not gonna get much )...
Any idea, suggestion or anything like that???
Thanks.
Alex

Ever think about getting a new top, perchance?

mine does it too. if it rains i get wet. if i get it washed, as soon as i drive it and hit the brakes, water comes from the top side bars and gets me. i made the mistake of going thru one of those auto-gas-washer things and the back got flooded in the top bag [behind the back seat].
but i live in So-Cali and water is almost 100% self induced here :) but it is a real bitch when it does rain.
i looked into getting the weather seals redone at misu... $1100 for the full job [required] labor included.

yes they will. if your seals look like mine you will know what i'm talking about. the seals that are above my windows look like a whore's crack...

I recently coated the top with some high traffic scotchguard and today was the first rain since I did it... To my delight I had NO,none, zip, zilch water come in...not even a drop!!!!!! Now i'm kickin myself for not doing it sooner!!!!

Vince nailed it. The seals right above where the window meets the top are the usual culprits. What is scotchgard though...?
(PS im sure local upholstry and cvt. top shops can do it for cheaper, no?)

you can buy scotch gaurd 'over the counter' usualy at a hardware store. it's a spray on water sealant. some are foam i think...

I'm assuming you just spray the shit out of everything and anything on the damned top? How lond do you think it will last if it works?

Since you arent walking on your top and the only abuse it sees is rain sun and wind it probably will last for quite awhile... the way i'm assuming i'll know it's time to redo it is when it starts to leak again!! duh I guess!!! lol I've had it on for about a week and I haven't noticed it fade or do anything funky to the top/color. It's rained 3 times since I did it and each time there has been NO leaks!!!
I got the scotchguard at my local grocery store... you can get it damn near anywhere!!! and it is probably a hell of a lot cheaper than a top shop...
